Things You Find Behind Drywall
Maybe it's a house mouse dragging a scrap a paper for its nest or a gift tag that simply slipped through the cracks; what you find when you do demo drywall is basically a time capsule. This is not a creepy post. Matt and I gathered the treasures that we found after taking down the drywall on the second floor and here they are for all to see.
- Adams Pepsin Gum Tutti Fruit: This piece of gum might be the oldest little artifact in this collection! According to the world wide web, Adams Pepsin was founded by Thomas Adams, an inventors in the 19th century. At first when working with chicle, the natural product used to make chewing gum, he tried to use it to make rubber tires. When that did not pan out, naturally he thought why not chew it and sell it? This piece of gum could have been from the Hotchkins - the family that likely built/renovated the house! Eventually, Adams Pepsin Gum produced the well-known gum called chiclets in 1915.
